Add the tap

Homebrew reads these packages from the tap dickwu/tap. Adding the tap registers them. It does not install them.

brew tap dickwu/tap
  1. Install Homebrew if the machine does not have it.
  2. Run brew tap dickwu/tap.
  3. Install one package with the command on its card.

Casks are macOS apps. Their commands use brew install --cask, for example brew install --cask r2. Some casks are fully qualified, such as brew install --cask dickwu/tap/git-strata-desktop.

Formulas are command-line tools and libraries. The card shows either a short command, such as brew install ironguard, or a fully qualified command, such as brew install dickwu/tap/git-strata. Copy the command as printed.

Each package links to its own site: the package name, then .lifefarmer.ca. R2 Client is live. The other sites are published separately and may not be up yet. This page does not replace them. The tap source is on GitHub.

Questions

What is this site?

This is the catalog of independent local-first developer tools from Life Farmer (dickwu). Each tool is a separate project with its own site. This page lists every package in the Homebrew tap dickwu/tap.

How do I add the tap?

Run brew tap dickwu/tap. That adds the tap only. It does not install any package.

How do I install a package?

After the tap is added, use the install command on that package's card. Casks use brew install --cask. When a card shows a fully qualified name, copy that command as written.

What is the difference between a formula and a cask?

A formula in this tap installs a command-line tool or a library. A cask installs a macOS desktop app. The label on each card matches the Homebrew definition file.

Where do the card links go?

Each card links to the package name plus .lifefarmer.ca. R2 Client is live at https://r2.lifefarmer.ca. The other product sites are separate and may not be published yet. Source code remains on GitHub.

What do the tags mean?

Category tags describe the kind of tool. Stack tags name technologies used to build it. Select one category, one stack, or both. Clear filters shows every package again.

Does this website run the tools?

No. You install and run them on your own machine. This website is a static catalog. It does not create accounts and it does not host the tools.
